CEF's Camp Good News - MaineWell, I've been working out an outline for my series of messages at Camp Good News (Child Evangelism Fellowship's Camp for children in East Livermore, Maine). I'm going to be the camp pastor there the first full week in July. I'm going to be speaking on something I've been teaching a lot about in my own youth group in the last year: "The Small Things".Because the Christian life is really composed of small things (which is why I'm not really fond of mega-churches, because so many of them have bought into the secular mindset that "bigger is better". But that's another entry altogether! ![]() Here's my basic outline of messages for the week I'm going to be at Camp Good News: Sin - A Small Thing? I'll start out looking at Adam and Eve, and how what seemed to be a very small thing completely altered the course of the human race. Jesus - A Tiny Baby The story of the "Second Adam" who came to restore people broken by sin. The Tongue - Small But Poisonous Verses from James and Proverbs about the tongue. Small Gifts The widow with her small coins teaches us a lot about the kinds of gifts God is looking for. I'll also talk about the "Good and Perfect gift" of Jesus Christ. Small People Gideon, David, and the little boy with fish and bread. No one is too small or unimportant to serve God; God uses the weak and foolish I enjoy being Camp Pastor at CGN; it's always an exhausting week though...the kids all want me to do stuff with their "tribes", so they keep me running all day. Then the staff hangs out together late into the evening, so it seems like there's never enough sleep time. Posted On Jun 7, 2005 at 8:17 AM
