Ministry In Haiti

His Hands For Haiti is a Christian ministry which has a child sponsorship program whereby you can, for $40.00 per year, provide for a child "a uniform, books, and basic school supplies, enabling them to receive an education as well as one hot meal per school day."

That's really a remarkable opportunity to make a difference in a child's life.

His Hands For Haiti also takes regular trips to Haiti, keeping in touch with the pastor, children, and community. They are involved in work projects in Terrier Rouge, Haiti, and also do work in Paulette, Haiti.

And, finally, their new website is online! You can view the new site at the following link:

On another subject, I've added yet another math game to The Problem Site. This game is Fraction Concentration, and can be viewed here:

Fraction Concentration: Recognizing Equivalent Fractions

If you try this game out, please give me feedback on whether or not it works properly in your web browser.

And, on a completely different subject, yesterday morning we had our second Nursing Home church service with the teens. I was so pleased with the service; we had a whole vanload of teens who went with us, and a very large group of residents. We even had a couple men show up this time! Tommy H and Rachel helped me lead music again, and David played my violin, which was a really nice addition to the music! Tommy B ran the sound system, Katie and Lizzy handed out the song books, Becky did the scripture reading (which was from I Peter - the verses about living stones), and I shared a message from Ephesians 2, about the church being built up together.

It is so encouraging to me to see how appreciative the residents are, to have us come and share the time with them. Now I've got to get to work on preparing what I'm going to share on Wednesday night at our Missions Conference.

Laura's Christmas Wish List

On Nov 9, 2005 Laura wrote: Hey, don't get that confused with my wish list, considering I don't play poker, don't smoke, and don't own a dog!

Doug Replied: Oh, come on, I know you secretly want all those things...

only, it ain't so much of a secret now.
