A Silly Riddle

Question
A man is peeling potatoes when he cuts his finger. He immediately puts his hand into water and leaves it there for 30 seconds. However, when he pulls his hand out the cut has entirely disappeared. How can this have happened?

That's just a silly riddle, and you'll have to scroll down to the bottom to get the answer. Meanwhile, just some random facts...

For those who didn't hear, I didn't go to Canada this weekend. Mike ended up at Maine Med, so there wasn't much point in driving to Canada to visit him. When he's well enough to go back, I may drive him back to school.

Arnold and I sang "Let Every Sinner's Knee Be Bowed" yesterday at church. I think it sounded good, but it's hard telling, since I didn't have the "congregation" perspective on it.

I've added a "statistics" page to the Treasure Hunt: Treasure Hunt Statistics. So far no one has solved all the puzzles.

I'm in the process of building a "simpler" treasure hunt. This one is going to be a mystery story for elementary/middle school aged children. When it's done I'll post a link here.

Tiff and I were chuckling last night at church, because in the last month, what Pastor Kevin and I have taught (he on Sundays, me on Wednesdays) has overlapped in one way or another every single week. It is interesting to see how things work together.

Okay, I guess it's time to post the answer to the silly riddle. This is a riddle just for Arnold, Carrie, David and Jeff.

Answer
The man was peeling potatoes by the banks of the Amazon River. When he put his finger in the river, the blood attracted the piranha, which removed his entire finger, cut and all!

...try to come back with all your fingers intact, okay? I'll be praying for you all.

How come I'm always the last to know???

(Just kidding...I found out yesterday!)

Doug Replied: Should we do the whole "I'm going on a cruise to the Ross Sea" thing again?

Doug Replied: Sure. But you should know, it gets mighty hot down there...
