Migration, Castle Dodgeball, and SyndicationFor anyone wondering about the migration of The Problem Site, the domain pointer was flipped Friday afternoon, and within just a few minutes, Brian had seen the new version, and within another hour or two, several other people had seen it. Thanks to everyone who reported in!Did everything work right? Not entirely. There was one game (The Scrambled Word Game) that didn't work right. There was a problem with my new database queries, which showed up sporadically. Since it was sporadic, I didn't realize it until the next day when I looked at the site statistics, and saw that there were a lot of page view errors on that game. I think I've got it fixed now. Everything was all set with that by noon on Saturday, so I didn't have to think about it, and could enjoy youth group. We played Castle Dodgeball, a game I learned from Camp Good News - it's a game which is essentially a cross between Dodgeball and Capture The Flag. I think the teens really enjoyed it. And despite the complaints about how sore he was, I'm pretty sure Pastor Kevin had a fun time too. ![]() Then I started learning how to put together an XML feed, so I could syndicate my web content. If you visit Biblical Illuminations, you will find a funny orange icon on the right hand side, which you can click to subscribe to the content on that site. The next obvious step is to syndicate this blog (as well as the other blogs hosted here ). Another - less obvious - step would be to start syndicating content on Articles For Educators and Amateur Hikers.Posted On Apr 2, 2006 at 5:27 PM On Apr 3, 2006 Doug wrote: New page added to the playground... At least, you're the only person I know who writes a Glog ![]() Doug Replied: well, an aggregator is a website that "aggregates" feeds from various sites and displays them for the user. So, since these are all feeds from MY sites, it just made sense to call it a dougregator! ![]() Plus, it's my dumb playground site, so I can do whatever dumb things I want to. ![]()
