Book QuizHere's a book quiz I found today on nrkii's blog.1. One book that changed your life? That's one that's really easy to answer, although many will think the answer is a trite and overused one...the Bible. In all the important aspects of life, my life would be vastly different without it. 2. One book you have read more than once? Just one? Goodness, that's not fair. The Bible. Various books by Orson Scott Card, and especially Ender's Game. Shusaku Endo's The Samaurai, Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart, Alan Paton's Cry The Beloved Country...I don't know, lots of others. 3. One book you would want on a desert island? Hmm...I'd want to take my Bible...other than that, something really really large, so it would take a long time to get through it! 4. One book that made you laugh? Grisham's The Rainmaker 5. One book that made you cry? Alan Paton's Too Late The Phalarope (Paton has some wonderful quotes in both this and "Cry The Beloved Country" - here's one: There is a hard law... that when a deep injury is done to us, we never recover until we forgive.) 6. One book you wish had been written? Eh. I dunno. 7. One book you wish had never been written? Mostly I don't care...people can write bad books all they want, it doesn't really affect me, unless I end up accidentally reading one of them! Oh, now that I think about it, why-oh-why did Dan Brown have to write such an utterly dishonest piece of fiction as The DaVinci Code? ![]() 8. One book you are currently reading? Cheaper By The Dozen (thanks to Laura!) 9. One book you have been meaning to read? Kenzaburo Oe's A Personal Matter 10. Now tag five people: I like nrkii's comment: Ooh, I don't know the etiquette here. Must I tag people, or can I just leave it as open-forum. Post your answers in comments, on your blog, or not at all, as you wish. Posted On Aug 10, 2006 at 7:35 PM
