Scavenger Hunt, The Jesus Quiz

Good morning! Home from camp again. Had another great week of camp, really enjoyed working with the teens at Camp Good News, and, of course, really enjoyed the staff as well. I think the lessons which hit home hardest with many of the teens were the lessons on grief and despair (from Psalms 42, 43, and 126).

Pretty soon I'm going to start posting some of my lesson illustrations at my Bible illustrations page, so if those interest you, be on the lookout for them!

If you haven't seen it yet, you might want to pay a visit to Brian's Scavenger Hunt. Take a few moments to see what you can come up with, and post some references!

On the same subject, I've been thinking lately that the church (taken as a whole) is woefully unknowledgeable of Jesus Christ. Your average Christian could probably tell you "Jesus died on the cross for my sins", as well as a few details about His birth, and His resurrection, but probably could not tell you much else.

Trent commented recently that I John 2:4 talks about people "coming to know Him", and while many "know" Him as Savior, few really know Him.

With this in mind, I've been toying with creating a "Jesus Quiz" online; a web page (which I would probably host at Biblical Illuminations) in which people could answer a series of multiple choice questions which would help them evaluate how well the know and understand what the Bible (start to finish!) tells about Christ.

For example:

Jesus said people should "take His yoke" and learn from Him because
a. He is wise.
b. He is humble.
c. He is powerful.
d. He is loving.

I would love to have any of my blog readers send me questions that you think would be good questions. I'm looking for questions that the answer would be clear just by looking at one single scripture reference, or at the very most, two scripture passages. For example, a question could be asked involving Psalm 2, and people could find the answer by seeing that in Acts 13:33, the second Psalm is talking about Jesus, and then finding the answer in Psalm 2. Does that make sense?

Also, the purpose of this is not really to find "obscure" facts to trick people, but to really help them evaluate just how much they do/don't know about Jesus - the things He said, the things He did, and the things the Bible clearly teaches about Him.

If you have questions you think would be good for the quiz, please email them to me, instead of posting them here. (and please send me the scripture reference(s) that answer the question!)
