Evangelism and Social ActionLately, I just can't seem to get enough sleep. If I go to bed early, I'm up before 5:00 AM. There's something seriously wrong with me being up at 5:00.![]() This morning's CQOD (Christian Quote Of The Day) was a nice one. One that I've said on many occasions, only not nearly as succinctly as John Stott does: The loving service which God sends His people into the world to render includes both evangelism and social action, for each is in itself an authentic expression of love, and neither needs the other to justify it. ~John R. W. Stott Funny, I was thinking about that just this week. Someone prayed for Daniel "That he would be a good witness at the Special Olympics". Now, there are many ways of being a "witness", and I think that the prayer is a good one, but the way many people think of "witnessing", Daniel would always be a failure - I doubt in his whole life Daniel would ever be able to clearly, verbally, explain the Gospel. For those who think that evangelism is the end-all and be-all of the Christian Faith, that would make Daniel an utter failure. I have a different opinion of Daniel. ![]() On a different subject, I have a favor to ask of anyone who reads this. Yesterday I posted an all new version of The Problem Site. This new version is designed to thematically fit with my other puzzle sites. I wanted people who visit the different sites to realize that this is a "family" of sites. Since The Problem Site gets a few thousand visitors every day, posting a new version makes me a bit nervous - what if I missed something? So, if you have a few minutes to play, feel free to poke around at The Problem Site, and see if you can find any "problems" (besides the math problems and brainteasers!) If you play around with it, please post me a comment letting me know whether or not you found any issues with the site. Thanks! When I first went there I thought, "this doesn't look all that different..." but I realize I must have been thinking of this site, because it does look a lot more like your blog now :-D Doug Replied: well, actually, what it really looks like is Quote Puzzler and Tile Puzzler. That's why it looked familiar to you! ![]() Thanks for poking around!
