Entrapment, and something for BethFirst, the something "just for Beth". Yesterday was a very hot day. Almost unbelieveably so. In fact, hard as it is to believe, yesterday, Maine was (overall) the hottest state in the US.When does that ever happen??? But around noontime, Waldoboro was the hottest town in the state of Maine. So there ya go, Beth...the hottest town in the hottest state...things were really steaming in your hometown yesterday! Now, Entrapment. Entrapment is a new puzzle I built yesterday. It's not linked in at The Problem Site, but since you're reading this blog, you get an advance peek at it. The object of the game is this: the computer has a number of red dots in a square playing field. Your have some gray dots which you have to place on the playing field in such a way that the computer's dots are all trapped between yours. The computer's dots are considered to be trapped if they lie on a straight line segment connecting two of your dots, and the computer's dot is on the midpoint of that segment. In other words, the computer's dot has to be halfway between two of yours. Visit the game page and you'll see a couple example pictures.
