Camp Berea Team Names - I Forgot Already!

At Camp Berea (North Turner, ME), they always have team competitions, and the teams have very strange names. I always say, if the names make sense to you, there's something wrong with you! I think they should try names like Q, or 7. Something simple and easy, so even a dodo bird can remember it!

Last week the team names were "Mental Block" and "Oops! My Memory Fails Me".

One of the teams seemed to be having trouble coming up with a team cheer, so a camper offered to give Doug a Mountain Dew in exchange for him writing a team cheer. Doug agreed, and was supposed to bring his cheer to the softball game on Friday, but they didn't play softball on Friday.

Well, it worked out okay, because Doug got his Mountain Dew, and here's the cheer he wrote for the "Mental Block" team...

Mental Block, Mental Block, we're so cool.
Mental Block, Mental Block, we're no one's fool.
We're hip, we're sly, we're smooth, we rule,
We're the greatest, we're the best, we're...
Uh...we're...uh...does anyone remember what our team name is??

I don't really think that's worth a Mountain Dew. A Moxie, maybe!

Another Week Of Camp!

Hey everyone! I just got home from another week of camp! I had fun - even though Doug left me in his cabin all the time. We had a really fun group of campers. Doug was mean to the boys - he teased them about not taking showers...

...not that Doug smells so good himself!

Oh! And guess what! Doctor Jonas came out for a visit. I heard he gave Doug a "checkup". I wonder if he discovered any gallbladder problems...

And I won't even tell you what those crazy girls in lakeview did... *shakes head*

Doug asked Matthew what his favorite part of camp was, and Matthew said: "Cabin cleanup, because that's when we get to goof off the most!" That's my kind of camper!

Oh, and we also met a camper from Alaska, which was cool, because Doug wants to learn more about Alaska...don't ask me why! I think Alaska is tooooo cold for dodo birds!

Anyway, I'm glad to be back home. Doug is fixing himself a bowl of soup, but I'm tired, so I'm going to bed now!

Good night!

Friday Night At FairHaven Camps

Oooh! I can't believe it! My very own blog! I'm sooo excited. Now I can tell people about the churches and camps I visit - not to mention all the interesting things that happens at Doug's house when he's not around and all us puppets come out to play.

What?

Oh. J.D. says "Bonjour!"

Anyway, tonight I was at Camp FairHaven, and Doug let me sing a song for the campers. It was a little scary, but a lot of fun.

There was a lady there who was standing right next to me doing sign language. I didn't know what she was doing at first - every time I said something, she started waving her arms, and I thought she was going to hit me! Yikes!

Then there was this really tall man...I thought he was a giant named Goliath, but actually he was just a giant named Uncle Travis. And he played the tennis racket I mean - guitar - while Doug and I sang.

We sang "Hymn of Grateful Praise", and Doug even let me sing the Christmas part, even though it's July!
