Dogs Need To Bark

Just before I head over to my favorite quotes site I thought I would drop this quote into my blog. It is quotes like this and the underlying verses that challenge us as Christian leaders.
Quote:
"Let us resist false doctrine, and contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints. Let us not be ashamed of showing our colors and standing out for New Testament truth. Let us not be stopped by the cuckoo cry of 'controversy'. The thief likes dogs that do not bark, and watchmen that give no alarm. The devil is a thief and a robber. If we hold our peace, and do not resist false doctrine, we please him and displease God."
- J.C.Ryle

I will leave you with the verse that I read as I introduceded the DVD re. the DaVinci Code Sunday night :
Jude 1:3,4 (NKJV)
Quote:
Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Trent Replied: There is another quote about "great minds" but on second thought it's probably not applicable here
